Our Story

Faddetzaman (silver from the past in Arabic) is created as a non-profit project, aiming to financially support the works of Al-Rawat for Studies and Research Institute (www.alrowat.com). Al Rowat documents Palestinian oral history through recording oral narratives that focus on the stories of marginalized groups whose testimonies were left out when history was written. It documents Palestinian oral history through four projects: the first: Palestinians displaced from their lands in 1948 and again in 1967, the second: documenting the lives of pioneering women, and the third: documenting the stories of the wounded of the 2014 aggression on Gaza, and the fourth: documenting Palestinian jewelry as part of Palestinian women’s collective memory.

FaddetZaman aims to revive the Palestinian heritage and keep the Palestinian memory alive. Traditional silver pieces worn by Palestinian women and girls since the early 1900's were collected and copies were reproduced. The traditional designs also inspired other ones and new creative pieces were made connecting the past with the present.

 فضة زمان هو أحد مشاريع الرواة التي تهدف إلى إحياء التراث الفلسطيني، وإبقاء الذاكرة الفلسطينية حية.
 تم جمع القطع الفضية التقليدية التي كانت ترتديها النساء والفتيات الفلسطينيات منذ أوائل القرن العشرين وأعيد إنتاج نماذج منها. ألهمت التصاميم التقليدية أيضًا تصاميم أخرى وصُنعت قطع إبداعية جديدة تربط الماضي بالحاضر.

FaddetZaman se creó como un proyecto sin fines de lucro, con el objetivo de apoyar los trabajos del Instituto Al-Rawat de Estudios e Investigaciones (www.alrowat.com). Al Rowat documenta la historia oral palestina mediante el registro de narraciones orales que se centran en las historias de grupos marginados cuyos testimonios se omitieron cuando se escribió la historia. Al Rowat documenta la historia oral palestina a través de cuatro proyectos: el primero: palestinos desplazados de sus tierras en 1948 y nuevamente en 1967, el segundo: documenta la vida de mujeres pioneras, y el tercero: documenta las historias de los heridos de la agresión de 2014 en Gaza. , y el cuarto: documenta la joyería palestina como parte de la memoria colectiva de las mujeres palestinas.

Faddet Zaman (Joyas del pasado en Arabe) es uno de los proyectos de Al Rowat de Estudios e Investigaciones (www.alrowat.com). A través de sus joyas, las abuelas palestinas nos ayudan a revivir el patrimonio joyero palestino, fiel reflejo de la identidad y memoria histórica del país. Se recogieron piezas de plata tradicionales, que fueron usadas por las niñas y las mujeres desde la década de 1900, para ser reproducidas en la actualidad. Los diseños tradicionales han servido de inspiración a piezas que destacan por su creatividad y diseño actual construyendo un vínculo entre el pasado y el presente.
